Camera Scanning Explained
This video features our friend Kyle McDougall demonstrating his camera scanning workflow. It provides a comprehensive summary of all you need to know to achieve a professional scan. Additionally, the video covers the necessary equipment, from the camera, lens to the stand and other VALOI products. You will also receive an overview of the negative conversion process and a comparison of the results to those obtained with a high-end dedicated scanner.
Mount your digital camera and a close focusing lens on a copy stand or tripod.
Digitize or scan your film by taking a shot of the film held flat in a backlit film holder. Convert the RAW negative file to a positive image using dedicated negative conversion software like Negative Lab Pro or FilmLab.
